UK Lift and Haul use a CPCS qualified Appointed Person (AP) in surveying projects and engineering solutions, to negotiate contracts, produce method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans and to oversee lifting projects. CPCS provides a registration card scheme acknowledged by industry for those involved in plant operations by recognising skills, knowledge and understanding, competence and qualifications.
CPCS is recognised by the UK Contractors Group (UKCG) and Major Home Builders Group (MHBG), amongst others, as the preferred card to comply with codes of practice for competence and certification. It was launched in 2003 at the request of employers, to help them comply with regulations and requirements, and aims to apply common standards for all plant operators.
CPCS is owned by the Construction Industry Training Board (otherwise known as CITB) which allocates staff to manage and administer it on behalf of the CPCS Management Committee that develops its policy and strategy.
UK Lift & Haul have a long history of working in partnership with County Council highway teams, CITB, the Highways Agency, major construction firms and the haulage industry to ensure health and safety best practice is maintained. We can carry out site surveys and create lift plans, risk assessments and method statements specific to your site or lifting needs.
We have qualified CPCS qualified Appointed Persons (AP) to provide onsite skills and experience in planning safe systems of work for carrying out lifting operations. An AP can be made available on request.
